Fans of Manchester City have taken to Twitter to react after Pep Guardiola offered an update on Sergio Aguero’s fitness ahead of the Premier League trip to Southampton.
The Argentina striker underwent knee surgery in the summer and since then, his return to action has already been complicated by a series of hamstring injury.
Aguero played 14 minutes in the West Brom game, his first league appearance since October, and now seems doubleful to be involved in Manchester City’s trip to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola has revealed that Aguero missed training the day after the draw with West Brom, and the following day too – Wednesday and Thursday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference today, Guardiola said: “I don’t know. After the game he could not train, yesterday no training, today he trained.”
“He trained really well but I don’t know how many minutes [he will play against Southampton].
“It’s important he can make training sessions. Unfortunately after the game he could not, nothing about the knee. Unfortunately a different position. Today he trained.”

He did his meniscus not an easy thing to recover from and tends to swell up frequently. He’ll be like this for the rest of his career now unfortunately
