Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spoke about Eric Garcia’s future after his side’s Champions League win over Porto on Wednesday.
The City boss hopes to convince defender Eric Garcia to extend his contract after handing the 19-year-old a rare start in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Porto.
Spain international Garcia is in the final year of his contract at City and was linked with a switch back to his boyhood club Barcelona during the close season but Guardiola is keen to keep him in Manchester.
“I know he wanted to leave but he’s going to stay and maybe we can seduce him in this year to extend the contract with us,” Guardiola told reporters.
“He’s a guy who is so stable in many things and we’re so happy.”
It’s expected that Barcelona will try to bring him back to the Camp Nou either in January or next summer.

He shouldn’t even be in the match day squad. I found it offensive to Stones that a player who wants out is picked ahead of him.
I wouldnt play Garcia again. At all.

He doesn’t want to play for us why ask him to sign another contract. Harwood-Bellis wants to play for us but chooses not to we don’t want another Tosin case. Let him leave in January

No. Boring and heartbreaking football. I just want us to play like the likes of bayern, liverpool with freedom. Not this side way passing and under attack with just one bad pass

There are some clueless fools here in the comments. He was as good if not better than Dias yesterday. The kid is 19 years old and has the potential to become a great player.

Most are clueless kids. Garcia is better than Stones.
