Manchester City fans were impressed with Tosin Adarabioyo after his excellent debut performance for Fulham in their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon.
The City Academy product, who was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad has proved that he has all the attributes to do well in the English Premier League.
The tall central defender did not get the chance to play in the English top-flight during his years of association with City.
Fulham sign Adarabioyo permanently on deadline day. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the club announced the Anglo-Nigerian was handed a three-year contract with the Cottagers holding the option to extend by an additional 12 months.
The 23-year-old was a revelation at the back against the Blades, and was close to helping Fulham keep their first clean sheet of the season until the 85th minute when Billy Sharp converted a spot kick to draw his team level.
The concession of a late penalty might have taken the shine off Tosin Adarabioyo’s top flight debut somewhat, but the former City defender shouldn’t allow it to detract from a commanding display. He was calm on the ball, confident in his decision making.
Adarabioyo took to Instagram to react to his Premier League debut, stating : “Premier League debut. ✅ We’ll take the positives on to the next fight! @FulhamFC 💪🏾”.
There is no doubt in Adarabioyo’s potential as a defender. A natural leader from a young age, he captain City’s youth side to the FA Youth Cup final in 2018.

Our board should be sacked for releasing him

In a transfer market that is pretty much out of control £1.8m for @TosinAdarabioyo looks unreal value. Young, strong, composed, positive, vocal. Could be a mainstay for years to come….. before City by him back for £80m.
