Officials at Etihad Stadium have once again decided to raise the price of season tickets for Manchester City’s 2024/25 season, confirmed on Wednesday.

A document was released to existing season ticket holders, giving them the opportunity to renew for the upcoming season, with incremental price increases applied to all sections of the stadium.

Since the 2022/23 season, season ticket prices for South Stand holders have increased from £544.17 to £617.50 on average, representing a 13.5% rise in that area of the stadium.

In fact, the South Stand has seen the highest increase in season ticket prices across the stadium since the 2021/22 season, with prices rising by almost 25% for loyal supporters of the club.

In a statement to the Manchester Evening News, a spokesperson for MCFC Fans Foodbank Support questioned the continuous rise in season ticket prices over the years, as well as the club management’s handling of the situation.

“Our core supporters, who have been following the club for years, have experienced price increases for over a decade now, despite Pep Guardiola saying ‘We need our people’ every year.”

The statement continued, highlighting the economic challenges faced by families in the Greater Manchester region and questioning the need for the club to increase matchday revenue when they made more money during lockdown without fans in the stadium.

In a closing message, the spokesperson suggested that club officials consider taking a pay cut rather than burdening supporters with additional costs.

It remains to be seen if Manchester City will reconsider their decision to raise season ticket prices, as pressure mounts from supporter groups and online platforms.
