Manchester City are reportedly scouting 25-year-old AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Disasi came into the limelight after his heroics for Stade Reims. His performances for the club resulted in a move to AS Monaco in the summer of 2020.

The 25-year-old has since gone from strength to strength and established himself as an important first-team player. His performances at the club level resulted in a late call-up to the French squad for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The former Reims defender has been involved in 121 matches for Monaco and has 16 goal contributions. He has been a rock in the centre of the park and his performances have improved further in the ongoing campaign. The French centre-back has been involved in 10 goals in his 41 outings in the current campaign.

His stocks have risen significantly of late and a lot of clubs are set to battle it out for his services. The 25-year-old has also talked about the desire of moving to a bigger club to stand a chance to be a regular for his national team.

According to Le Parisien, Chelsea and Manchester City are keen on having Axel Disasi in their ranks. Both the Premier League clubs had sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old over the weekend.

Elsewhere, a report from Sport claims Barcelona are eyeing Ilkay Gundogan as he is expected to leave when his Blues contract expires in the summer.

The report claims that Barcelona sent scouts to watch the Germany star in Tuesday’s win over Bayern. Gundogan is thought to be keen on the idea of linking up with Xavi as the Spanish side look for cost-free acquisitions amid their huge debts
