Manchester City has a history of young talents attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs, such as Jadon Sancho and Rabbi Matondo. The latest player to catch the eye of German teams is 20-year-old Josh Adam, who is also drawing interest from the Belgian Pro League. Despite his talent, Adam has yet to break into City’s first team, and there are already several established attacking midfielders in the squad, making his potential departure to another league less concerning for the club.
Bundesliga clubs are known for giving young players a chance to shine in the first team, which has made them attractive destinations for talented prospects from English clubs. Borussia Dortmund, in particular, has been successful in signing young players from City in the past. While losing Adam to a Bundesliga or Belgian club on a free transfer may not be ideal for City, it is not an insurmountable loss given the depth of talent in their midfield. The club already has world-class players like Kevin De Bruyne and promising talents like Phil Foden in similar positions.
Despite the interest from Bundesliga and Belgian clubs, Josh Adam has not yet made a breakthrough into Manchester City’s first team. With other talented players ahead of him in the pecking order, Adam’s potential departure may not significantly impact City’s squad depth. While it is always a loss to see promising young players leave the club, City’s strong squad and wealth of midfield options mean they are well-equipped to handle Adam’s potential departure and continue to compete at the highest level.
