Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on the club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland.
Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.
The Borussia Dortmund talisman has become one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market since making his breakthrough at Red Bull Salzburg a couple of years ago.
Haaland, who remains under contract with the Black and Yellow until 2024, has already netted 19 goals in 17 appearances for Dortmund this term despite injury concerns.
The Dortmund superstar is arguably the hottest property in world football at the moment and with City short of options at the point of the attack, it’s no surprise they have been tipped as potential suitors for the Norway international.
His influence on Dortmund was clear to see on Saturday when he provided an assist during their remarkable comeback win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Sam Lee writing for the Athletic, Manchester City are very keen on signing Erling Haaland.
They know Real Madrid are in a stronger position to secure his services right now, but Man City
want to be in the race until it is over and will have the finances ready.
In light to the update on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

If Madrid seal Mbappe then there’s a very good chance for us, but it’s still a chance no guarantee

We will waste the entire windows chasing him only for him to go to Madrid and leaving us without a striker yet again.

Looking underneath the rumours it would appear City are in a strong position regarding Haaland. The main reason Mbappe wants out of PSG is to be the main focal point of a team, as is the same with Erling. This is something @ManCity should use to their advantage!#MCFC #Haaland https://t.co/b8iexEegNk

The last transfer window hurt me… I’m not setting myself up for any hope 🙄

Question guys. Obviously he’s a brilliant player already and his ceiling is massive, but watching him at the weekend and stuff, does he suit or style of play? What would we have to change for him to fit in and get the best out of him? And would pep change his style?
