Manchester City’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain is reportedly aware of Real Madrid’s interest in midfielder Rodri. While Begiristain is expected to leave the club soon after a 12-year tenure, he continues to focus on ensuring City has the best talents available for the upcoming season.
Real Madrid is eyeing Rodri as a potential addition to their midfield, according to journalist Joan Fontes. The Spain international has been chosen by Real Madrid’s president to reinforce the team’s midfield either this summer or in the future. Despite interest in Rodri, it is believed that he is among a select few players in Manchester City’s squad that are not for sale.
Manchester City will likely prioritize a contract renewal for Rodri to acknowledge his significant impact on the team since joining in 2019. While Real Madrid’s interest may pose a challenge, it seems highly unlikely that City would be willing to part with the midfielder or any other key members of their squad in the near future.
