Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claim Barcelona are readying a shock double swap offer to sign Portuguese duo Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo this summer.
Silva was the subject of interest from Barcelona last summer. The City playmaker reportedly had his heart set on a move to Spain, but however, a transfer fell through late on. He is completing his fourth year at the Etihad and has been on a roller-coaster of a ride in this period. 2020/21, featuring 45 times in all competitions.
As for Cancelo, the defender, who joined Manchester City from Juventus in the summer of 2019, played a starring role for City last season in his best year for the Manchester club, turning out 43 times for the Citizens, while chipping in with 3 goals and 5 assists.
Both Cancelo and his compatriot have contracts until 2025, but they are reportedly open to the idea of moving to the Camp Nou this summer.
Barcelona have already signed Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia this summer via free transfers and seem to stepping up their efforts to continue their raid on Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deporitvo via Sport Witness, the Catalan giants are prepared to offer Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembele in a shock double swap to land Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo.
The report claims that those close to Cancelo and Silva have informed them that joining Barcelona is a ‘real option’ this summer.
It’ll be interesting to see how things develop on a potential exchange deal.
