Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed comments made by Pep Guardiola concerning the future of defender Eric Garcia.
The highly-rated 19-year-old centre-back, who has been at the centre of interest from Barca throughout the summer, has refused City’s offer of a new deal with less than 12 months to run on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.
City have so far rebuffed the La Liga club’s bid of €8 million plus €2m in bonuses, Barca have hinted that they’re willing to increase their offer.
In comments made ahead of their Premier League game with Leed United, Pep Guardiola discussed the future of García, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Etihad over the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola said: “I know Eric Garcia wants to leave and that Barcelona want him but there is no deal between the clubs right now. How it’s going to finish I don’t know…”

Shouldn’t play for City again…

This kind of situation makes players unstable, hence poor performance and the kind of mistakes we saw with Leicester.

That ship has sailed once Garcia refused a contract extension and expressed his intentions of running down his contract and signing with Barcelona.
He’ll have to settle at most, 5th-6th choice CB if Barcelona doesn’t come into agreement on a transfer fee with City.

I have an issue. A fit Stones and Garcia is pretty much 4th choice RCB for us. Shouldn’t really see any game time

There’s only one Eric we want at city, Eric Laporte. Let Garcia rot in the reserves if he wants to leave.
