‘Well said Pep! Absolutely spot on’ – Man City fans react to Pep’s response to Premier League title race

Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he’s not feeling the pressure ahead of another title race with Liverpool this season.

Whilst speaking ahead of City’s clash against Leicester tomorrow, the Catalan was questioned about the pressure of winning the top-flight. 

“I think the media, or my fans, or my chairman, is not going to put me in jail if I don’t win the Premier League. So what is the pressure? Guardiola simply responded. 

The City Manager added that the worst thing that can happen is that he’s sacked. 

“The pressure is to do your job as well as possible, and the worst thing that can happen is they’re going to sack me. I will hug a lot of people here and say thank you for the incredible opportunity to be in England and in the Premier League. This is not the pressure. I try to do my job.

“I have always had it that way, since I started in Barcelona when we lost games at the beginning, I said: ‘OK, the worst thing that can happen is I will be back at home with my family and I will find another job. More time to myself to play golf, or whatever.’

“This is my pressure I put on myself. Of course I am concerned and sad when I don’t win, when we went out of the Champions League I was sad, but I accept that part of my life. We do everything to try to win, but I will not die if I don’t win one title.”

He’s absolutely spot on. A lot of people on here need to remember that football is a sport. Seriously, if football is all anyone is hanging their life on, they are going to spend far more time dissapointed than happy. Get some perspective.

What don’t people understand? Football isn’t everything. It’s just a game. People forget this too easily. At the end of the day, go back to your family and enjoy the company of those you love. Getting the sack or losing the league is part of the game.
