Brazilian football legend Ronaldo has weighed in on the Premier League title race, predicting that Manchester City will come out on top despite Arsenal’s current position at the top of the table.
Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Brentford, propelling them to the summit of the league standings, ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City. Liverpool and City played to a 1-1 draw, with Arsenal now leading the pack due to their superior goal difference.
Despite that, Ronaldo is predicting Pep Guardiola’s men to come out on top at the end of the Premier League campaign.
When asked who will win the Premier League title, he simply replied: “City”.
While Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Mikel Arteta’s side has what it takes to emerge victorious at the end of the season. Wright praised Arsenal’s current form and fitness levels, tipping them to lift the trophy.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer echoed Ronaldo’s prediction, backing Manchester City to succeed due to their experience in handling pressure situations.
Shearer highlighted City’s composure and belief in their abilities as key factors in their favor, contrasting this with the perceived pressure on Liverpool and Arsenal due to upcoming changes within their respective clubs.
Despite acknowledging Arsenal’s impressive performances and goal-scoring from various players, Shearer raised concerns about their lack of a top goalscorer and whether this could ultimately impact their title aspirations.
He speculated on the importance of having a reliable scorer in tight matches, emphasizing the need for Arsenal to maintain their current form and adapt in crucial moments.
Overall, the Premier League title race remains closely contested between Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City, with each team facing unique challenges and strengths as they vie for the prestigious trophy. Time will tell which club emerges victorious at the end of the season.
