Manchester City’s defensive midfielder Rodri has provided insight into what fans can expect from the reigning Premier League champions after the international break.
Rodri has been a key player for Manchester City this season, being part of the team’s impressive unbeaten streak of over 60 matches across all competitions under Pep Guardiola’s management.
With crucial fixtures against Arsenal, FA Cup semi-finals, and UEFA Champions League quarter-finals approaching, Manchester City’s season is entering a critical phase.
City fans often see the best performances from the players during this part of the season, a sentiment shared within the Etihad Stadium dressing room.
In a recent interview, Rodri expressed that the upcoming international break will benefit the club and that the team will showcase their ‘best version’ in the second half of the season.
“It’s going to be good for us, this break. You will see the best version of this team at the end of the season,” Rodri insisted.
“Always it happens because of the manager, because of the standards of the club, because of ourselves and the ways we have learned over these years.”
“This is what we want to do. We asked the lads to rest as much as possible. I know it’s tough but we have friendly games (for our national teams).
“It’s important to play for our national teams but also to think about the end of the season. I think the best is yet to come.”
After facing Arsenal, Manchester City’s April fixtures include matches against Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
The month will also see an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium and a Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
