Steph Houghton, a player from Manchester City, expressed her concerns about two key players from the team not performing at their best. The team narrowly escaped with a draw against Liverpool at Anfield, with John Stones scoring a goal for City before Alexis Mac Allister equalized with a penalty.

Throughout the game, Liverpool had City on the back foot, with Luis Diaz missing several opportunities to score. Despite their chances, City also had opportunities to win the game, with Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku hitting the woodwork.

Houghton believes that Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland are not performing up to par, and that City is conceding more goals compared to last season.

Houghton told Football Daily: “I think what Liverpool did yesterday, I don’t think anybody’s really done that to City for a couple of seasons now.

“I don’t think City are firing on all cylinders. I don’t think Kevin De Bruyne’s back at his best, I don’t think Haaland’s at the level that he was last season.

“I think we are conceding a lot more goals than we did last season.

“All I hear is everybody talk about is City have been in this position before with 10 games to go and they have that experience to see this period out.

“It’s not just playing Premier League games it’s being involved in FA Cup, Champions League. Arsenal are playing this midweek against Porto and they have to win to go through.

“Liverpool are special and the Jurgen Klopp factor, the fact it’s his last season, I think this gives them an extra edge.

“Because they want to go out on a massive high and even with a weakened team yesterday they caused City a lot of problems.”

With only three points separating the top teams in the title race, City will need to improve if they want to secure their fourth consecutive title.

Despite City’s struggles in the second half against Liverpool, the team’s ability to hold on under pressure demonstrates their potential for excellence, even if they are not at their peak performance.

In conclusion, while City may not be firing on all cylinders at the moment, there is no reason for panic. The team still has the experience and skill to compete at the highest level, and with determination and improvement, they can continue to challenge for the title.
