Manchester City drew attention from Liverpool over a recent travel decision for an Under-23s meeting between the two clubs, as per a new report.

Both teams have been the top squads in the Premier League for the past decade, with Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp as their respective managers competing for the top spot.

Guardiola has triumphed in five seasons in England and is now aiming for a fourth consecutive Premier League title, while Klopp prepares to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

The competition between the senior squads doesn’t end there, with subtle jabs being made at each other on and off the field, including a recent incident at Academy level.

According to a report by MailSport’s Mike Keegan, eyebrows were raised at Liverpool’s training ground when Manchester City’s Under-23s arrived for a match in the first-team bus adorned with last season’s five trophies.

It is speculated that Manchester City’s move was a cheeky attempt to emphasize their superiority from last year amidst the intense rivalry between the two clubs.

Merseyside Police ensured a peaceful encounter during Manchester City’s recent Premier League match at Anfield, unlike the scenes from 2019.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with John Stones’ goal in the first half being equalized by an Alexis Mac Allister penalty in the second half.

Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all vying for the Premier League title, with Arsenal facing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium after the international break.
