Kyle Walker recently acknowledged an unsung hero at Manchester City for his vital role in John Stones’ goal against Liverpool.
The highly anticipated match between Manchester City and Liverpool did not disappoint, ending in a 1-1 draw with plenty of excitement and drama.
In the first half, Pep Guardiola’s team appeared dominant and took the lead when John Stones found the back of the net from a corner kick.
The goal was a result of a well-executed set piece, with Kevin De Bruyne surprising everyone with a low cross to the near post.
Captain Kyle Walker credited set piece coach Carlos Vicens for the goal, recognizing his hard work in training.
Speaking to City’s in-house media, Walker said: “The lads work hard.
“The set-piece coach Carlos [Vicens] works hard tirelessly and that’s a reward for him.
“We saw the space and capitalised on it.
“Ultimately, we’ve drawn the game but let’s not be too disheartened – we’re very pleased to come here and not lose.”
Liverpool fought back in the second half, earning a penalty and equalizing through Alexis Mac Allister. Both teams had chances to secure a victory, but ultimately settled for a draw.
The Premier League title race has now become more unpredictable, with Arsenal leading the pack and City gearing up for a crucial clash against them.
With just a point separating the top three teams and 10 games remaining, the title race is wide open. City’s upcoming match against Arsenal will be crucial in their pursuit of the league title.
Despite the draw against Liverpool, City remains motivated and determined to secure important victories in the remaining fixtures.
