Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will demand £40 million to part ways with Aymeric Laporte.
Laporte has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City, and he needs to leave the club to play regularly. The defender has started just six games in the Premier League this season. And a player of his ability will be hoping to play more often.
Apparently, the Spanish international does not have any shortage of suitors. But he is likely to leave the Premier League as Manchester City do not want to strengthen their rivals by selling a quality player to them.
The 28 year-old has been subject to transfer interest from across Spain and Italy; with Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma all rumoured to be considering a potential move for Laporte.
Another one of Europe’s juggernauts have registered their interest in the Spaniard, according to Football Insider – Paris Saint Germain.
FI claim that Manchester City will only consider offers around the £40million mark for their Spanish defender, which would be a £17million loss on what they signed him for in January 2018.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@DavidKokunoure: I thought it would be more for one of the best CBs in the world that should have at least 4-5 years left on top level.
@Shady19: Going to assume this isn’t true because that’s actually mad
@MCFCOK47: Embarrassing if true
@MisterCity19: Way too low
@JakePritchardFC: Should be higher
@atymcfc: £40m doesn’t get you Lindelof these days so why are we only taking this much? Baffling
@KevinDeHaaland: Wtf is wrong with us. Laporte is 70m at least
@TotallyRico: £55m atleast
@allfooty101: At least 60-70 for laporte man wtf is 40 million. That’s disrespectful
@NeonNicole95: Napoli wanted to charge 90m for 29 year old Koulibaly when we wanted him. Anything less than £60m is too cheap
