Erling Haaland’s dad, Alfie, has dropped another hint that the Manchester City striker’s time at the Premier League club could be short lived.
There has been speculation ever since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium whether Manchester City were the career-long club for the Norwegian international.
However, concerns amongst some fans were heightened when details of a release clause emerged shortly after his arrival from Borussia Dortmund was confirmed.
Haaland’s dad, who also represented City, has again claimed that his son could leave the Etihad sooner than City fans would want.
“Erling could stay at Manchester City for 15 years because he is happy and we are talking about a great club,” he told France Football as quoted by DAZN.
“However, I think he wants to prove he can win in any top league. He spent two and a half years in Germany and could do something like that in the future.”
“Staying in the Premier League for three years and then going to Italy, Spain or France. There’s nothing firm about it, but it’s a possibility because Erling is capable of being a winner in any team.”
These Alfie’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“Why is this even been talked about? He has literally just arrived here.”
