Pep Guardiola plans to sign two Premier League midfielders as the Manchester City boss determines to improve his team, particularly the midfield ahead of next campaign.

As per insider information from Manchester City, Pep Guardiola is expected to have a substantial budget at his disposal for the upcoming summer transfer window. This financial backing will enable him to buy his desired players, an important move in the event that Bernardo Silva and other key players opt to depart the club at the end of the season.

City have been linked with numerous skilled midfielders such as Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz; however, acquiring their services this summer may prove challenging as their current clubs are unlikely to part ways with them.

Hence, Pep Guardiola has reportedly turned his focus towards Newcastle and West Ham’s Bruno Guimaraes and Lucas Paqueta.

In a post on social media platform X, Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ claimed that the City manager is planning to sign the two players and the Spaniard believes that their experience in the Premier League will be an added advantage for City.

“As of now, Pep (Guardiola) prefers to sign (Bruno) Guimaraes and (Lucas) Paqueta,’ the source wrote on Tuesday. ‘He loves both and feels their Premier League experience and age profiles are exactly what his team needs and both are desperate to come.’

Manchester City Determine To Sign A Backup For Rodri

Pep Guardiola will be eager to secure the service of a midfielder who can alleviate Rodri of his sole role as the team’s recognised defensive midfielder.

Rodri has featured prominently in nearly every City match this season. He has proven to be an indispensable player for the team, and his consistent presence posing a potential risk to his performances on the pitch, his overall health and well-being.

The prospective addition of Bruno Guimaraes has the potential to resolve Pep Guardiola’s midfield dilemma, as the Brazilian has the ability to seamlessly slot into Rodri’s position, providing reliable support for the Spanish international.

Additionally, Manchester City is reportedly keeping a close watch on the developments surrounding Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who has thus far declined to renew his contract with the Bundesliga giants.
