Man City ‘willing to pay £230,000-a-week’ to reunite Pep Guardiola with midfield star and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Toni Kroos on a free transfer with his Real Madrid contract up at the end of the season.

Kroos’s current deal at Bernabeu is due to expire next June, though, meaning that, as it stands, he would be able to hold talks with foreign clubs in January over a pre-contract.

Sensational claims have emerged from Spain that say Kroos is a target for City in January – despite the club adding Kalvin Phillips to the squad in the summer.

According to Diario SPORT, Manchester City are attempting to make a shock move for the German superstar.

As per the report, City have already made an approach to sign the player over a deal worth an estimated £230,000-a-week, with a number of clubs on high-alert.

Man City’s desire to sign the German is hardly surprising as the club are likely to part ways with Ilkay Gundogan. The former Dortmund star’s departure should create a massive void in the midfield department and that is where the Real Madrid superstar comes into the fray.

Kroos already shares a good relationship with Pep Guardiola, having played under him at Bayern Munich in the past.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Czech striker Patrik Schick at Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

As per Fichajes, Manchester City will make their intentions known for Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick. The 26-year-old has been one of the most in-form attackers in Europe currently, and a number of clubs are circling around for his service.

Schick recently signed a long-term contract with Bayer Leverkusen this year. So Manchester City will have to offer another big-money sum to a Bundesliga club to align him alongside Haaland and Alvarez.
