‘Oh no!’, ‘Another controversy will definitely happen’ – Man City fans react as PL name Referee and VAR official for Tottenham game this weekend

The Premier League have confirmed that Michael Oliver will take charge of the clash between Manchester City and Tottenham on Saturday.

Heading into the match at the Etihad, Spurs and City are the only two teams who are still unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season.

Pep Guardiola’s side need to bounce back after a disappointing result against Aston Villa last weekend, but they face a tough task in Antonio Conte’s Spurs team.

Both teams have won four and drawn two of their first six games and the clash promises to be a cracker.

The Premier League have now confirmed that Oliver will be in charge of the game at the Etihad while Stuart Burt and Simon Bennett will be his assistants.

Darren England will be the fourth official for the game while Paul Tierney will be on VAR duty, assisted by Marc Perry.

The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
