Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie has hinted at a possible date for his son to leave Manchester City, speaking during a new documentary.

The superstar striker, 22, has made a sensational impact since joining City as the headline Premier League summer signing.

Signing a five-year deal with the Premier League champions, Haaland has already scored 14 goals for his new team in a mere nine appearances in all competitions.

There has been speculation ever since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium whether Manchester City were the career-long club for the Norwegian international.

Real Madrid, who had been keen on signing Haaland from Dortmund in the past, are reportedly planning to raid Manchester City by bidding for him in 2024.

This is because the striker’s termination clause will come into force in 2024 just in case he wants to change his environment. As per the information of James Ducker of The Telegraph, Haaland’s release clause in his contract is between €150 million and €200 million.

Speaking during a new documentary titled, ‘Haaland — The Big Decision’ – which aired this month on Scandinavian streaming service Viaplay – Alfie Haaland revealed that his son wants to test himself in all major leagues in Europe.

As part of that revelation, the former Manchester City man hinted at the idea of Erling Haaland leaving the Etihad Stadium before his third season in Sky Blue.

Alfie Haaland said, “I think Erling (Haaland) wants to test out his capabilities in every league.

He continued, as relayed by The Times newspaper, “He could have 2½ years in Germany, 2½ in England, and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?,” before adding a laugh.

“We do not know if it will be like that, but I think he would like to test his abilities in the big leagues.”

These Alfie Haaland’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“We knew this, but I still don’t think he’ll play in Italy or France in his career tbh. 5 years at City then he’ll move on imo.”

“I think people should just accept the possibility of haaland going to madrid in 3-4 years. Alvarez is going to be a city legend though so its calm.”

“Not at all surprised by this, the player has ambitions of winning every possible league and we cannot blame him for that!! He is a City fan no doubts but has ambitions to conquer the world, we should just enjoy the fact that he is with us rather than worry about him leavin..”

“Think most of us know this is a possibility. But it’s pointless worrying about the future. Haaland, Pep, any of the players. Enjoy them while they’re here and the rest will work itself out..”
