Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has confirmed his intention to stay at the club.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the Portuguese international, in an €80m switch to Catalonia, as part of a squad rebuild taking place at the Camp Nou.
Pep Guardiola has constantly reiterated his determination to keep Silva at the Etihad Stadium with the former AS Monaco star playing a key role for the Premier League champions.
Silva featured as a substitute in City’s opening two Premier League games before starting for the first time this season in Manchester City’s 3-3 draw against Newcastle United on Sunday.
The 28-year-old played a key role in the six-goal thriller, assisting Ikay Gundogan’s opener before scoring the equaliser in the second half.
After scoring and providing an assist on his return to the starting XI against Newcastle on Sunday, Silva has seemingly confirmed what his plans are for the current campaign.
“I’m happy at Manchester City. I’m doing my best to help the club. I’m very focused here,” he said after City’s entertaining 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park.
These Bernardo Silva’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
