Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Ilkay Gundogan could make a move this summer, with German newspaper Bild pointing him towards Barcelona or Juventus.
Whilst Gundogan has been a crucial cog in Pep Guardiola’s side since he became the Catalan’s first signing at the club in 2016, the former Borussia Dortmund star has not always been first-choice in midfield and was left on the bench for a number of crucial league and cup ties last term.
The German’s future has been a subject of discussion for months, as he enters the final year of his contract. The German has expressed a desire to stay, but also a requirement for more regular playing time, with City consistent that talks would take place this summer.
However, speculation surrounding the future of Ilkay Gundogan continue to emerge with several European clubs monitoring the situation.
According to BILD_Sport, the former Borussia Dortmund man is looking for a transfer to get regular playing time under his belt ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The report claims that Barcelona are a ‘dream club’ for the German, while Juventus are also interested in his signature, with the player’s decision remains ‘completely open’ at present.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Man City supporters.
