‘Another Toure?’, ‘Get him in’ – Fans react as Man City closing in on the signing 19-year-old Le Havre defender

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are closing in on the signing of Le Havre centre-back Isaak Touré.

The 19-year-old has been turning heads with his displays for the Ligue 2 outfit. Having been handed his debut with a 60-second cameo in 2020-2021, the giant centre-half saw plenty of action last season. He made 12 starts among 17 league outings and caught the eye of a number of top European clubs.

Touré, who is under contract in Normandy until 2023, had offers to leave his formative club last year, with interests from Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, but his club had decided to keep hold of him.

Eintracht Frankfurt, Newcastle United, Marseille and Lyon have also been linked but it seems as though it is Manchester City who have moved quickest to try and land the France Under-19 ace.

According to L’Équipe report tonight, Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Le Havre central defender Isaak Touré.

The report claims that an agreement is close to being found between the two clubs, although common ground has already been found on the outlines of the transfer.

The Premier League side are currently looking at sending him out on loan straight away, with Troyes – who are also part of the City Football Group – a potential destination.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
