Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are ‘getting closer’ to an agreement for Nathan Ake.

It was recently reported that the Dutch international is high up on Thomas Tuchel’s transfer wish list this summer, as the Stamford Bridge club look to strengthen at the back.

In addition, another claim was made about how Manchester City had informed the player that he is free to depart the Etihad Stadium, should the right proposal be made.

According to the latest information from Matteo Moretto, Chelsea are now working and getting to closer to their first signing in defence, which is Manchester City’s Nathan Aké.

Moretto reports that the two Premier League giants are now ‘getting closer’ to a full agreement on the financials of a deal, with an offer of almost £40M on the table.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
