Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Galatasaray have entered talks with Kayky and Yangel Herrera over a summer transfer.
Herrera has never played for City since joining the club in January 2017 from Atletico Venezuela in his homeland. He instantly left on loan to sister club New York City in the MLS. He has been in Spain ever since, first for six months with Huesca and then for the past two seasons with Granada.
The Venezuelan international has spent the season at Espanyol (August 2021 – present), playing 22 times in all competitions, but it doesn’t appear he’ll have a future back in Manchester when his loan is up.
While Kayky, 18, signed for Manchester City for an initial £8.6million in the summer from Fluminese in a deal that could rise to £21million. The initial plan was for the winger to arrive in Manchester in January, but that timeframe was brought forward and he arrived in the autumn.
He has been a regular face in first team training under Pep Guardiola, has featured 17 times for the academy, and already made two senior appearances.
With the U23 season now finished, Kayky will help his senior teammates prepare for their final Premier League game of the season, and look to make an impression ahead of next season.
According to Fotomac, Galatasaray have entered talks with Manchester City over summer moves for Kayky and Yangel Herrera.
The report claims Galatasaray Manager Domenec Torrent plans to use his close ties to Pep Guardiola as leverage.
The manager shares a similar football philosophy to Guardiola and could give experience to young footballers playing in a style similar to City.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Will probably go for €10m-€15m with a buyback or sell-on clause. I’d keep Kayky in the youth teams tbf another 2 seasons with the academy and he’ll qualify as home grown and we need more of that.”
