‘They’ve not denied it’, ‘something is going on’ – Man City fans react to the Club’s stance on Erling Haaland transfer reports

Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report on the club’s stance to the recent transfer reports on Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland.

Competition is fierce for Haaland’s signature, as the prolific Norwegian will be available for around £63 million when his release clause becomes active at the end of the season.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the 21-year-old, who has scored 23 times in 20 appearances this season.

Sources in both Germany and Spain say Haaland has agreed personal terms for a move to Man City this summer in a deal that will cost around £100million with all the fees included.

However, According to Stuart Brennan via Manchester Evening News (MEN), The official line from Man City is that reports of a deal for Erling Haaland being set are speculation, while they refuse to comment on whether any meetings have taken place.

Stuart Brennan states that Pep Guardiola’s side are still cautious about their chances of signing Erling Haaland – although they are undoubtedly in pole position.

City have been stung before when transfers seemed a certainty, not least last summer, when there was fairly high confidence in the camp that Harry Kane would make the move from Tottenham and link up with Pep Guardiola and his squad.

There was also a deal in place for Jorginho in 2018 – the player had agreed to go to City and the two clubs had shaken hands on a £44million deal, only for Chelsea to gazump them by offering £10m more.

Man City fans know from bitter experience that any deal is never done until the signature is on the contract. In light to the report, many Sky Blues have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

“This is pretty much always City’s default stance. They said the same when we were going for everyone we signed. Take it with a pinch of salt (either way, if you want).”

“We ain’t getting him. it’s the Kane and Ronaldo situation all over again..”

“If it wasnt true they’d deny it. Instead they have refused to comment. The news was a deal is arranged, not agreed, and the club hadn’t even signed off on it yet. If the club publicly confirmed such news it would be incredibly foolish. Confirmation only when papers are signed.”

“City FIRMLY denied that we were interested Bruno or Nuno Mendes when there were reports of us being interested, they didn’t deny anything here so that’s a good thing.”
