‘He’s accepted defeat’ – Man City fans react as Barcelona president sent Erling Haaland message

Manchester City fans are all saying the same thing after Barcelona appeared to rule themselves out of the race to sign Erling Haaland.

Competition is fierce for Haaland’s signature, as the prolific Norwegian will be available for around £63 million when his release clause becomes active at the end of the season.

Sources in both Germany and Spain say Haaland has agreed personal terms for a move to Man City this summer in a deal that will cost around £100million with all the fees included.

Pep Guardiola’s side as per Manchester Evening News (MEN) are still cautious about their chances of signing Erling Haaland – although they are undoubtedly in pole position.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the 21-year-old, who has scored 23 times in 20 appearances this season.

Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, was asked about the possibility of Haaland arriving at Camp Nou. In response, Laporta said: “Haaland? Even if we had the best economic situation, there are operations that we would not do.”
