‘Right decision’, ‘They’ve learnt from the Kane saga’ – Erling Haaland’s fresh transfer update has Many Man City fans talking

Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays updates on the future of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

The 21-year-old striker is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer due to a £62million release clause, and interest is high from the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Man City.

The hunt for the signature of Erling Haaland is set to take a step towards completion in the coming weeks with the City transfer target set to make a decision on his future.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the player is set to make his final decision in the coming weeks ahead of the summer transfer window

The Journalist claims Haaland’s decision over his next destination will be based on personal choice and leading contenders in the race to sign the Norwegian – believed to be Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Haaland’s father, Alfe-Inge Haaland, played for Manchester City for three years between 2000 and 2003, so there could be a sentimental temptation to sign for the Premier League leaders.

Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.

However, It has further been stated that while Haaland remains a ‘primary target’, City are ready to explore other options should talks drag on beyond the timescale which has been indicated by the youngster’s representatives at present.

In light to the report on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

“We really gonna pull out of the haaland deal because it took a week longer then expected.”

“What could the timescale possibly be? I’m sure if City were worried about this then they must’ve already started negotiations based on how strongly they actually want him. Surely wouldn’t want RM to get involved and snatch him off.”

“Man City wants Haaland and Haaland wants City. Simple as that.”

“It should be Haaland who should prefer City, we need players who wants to play for us. We don’t want superstars, we want players who play for the team.”

“I can’t imagine a world where Erling watched that Manchester derby yesterday (and many other games we’ve played this season) and STILL pick Real Madrid. I honestly can’t.”

“Hopefully he choose us.”

Priority ranking should be like this: Haaland, Kane, Lewandowski, Darwin, Txiki as a striker.”

“If not Haaland, then Lewa please. He can go for 2-3 more years at least, and he can help develop Delap and Alvarez. Kane should be last resort”
