Manchester City ace Jack Grealish has responded after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed he ‘didn’t even know’ when the Citizens were playing.
Liverpool beat West Ham on Saturday to move to within three points of City with both teams having played the same number of games.
Despite the fact Liverpool are in the thick of the Premier League title conversation, Klopp insists he does not know when their main rivals play as his team look to close the gap on the Premier League leaders.
Speaking ahead of their clash against West Ham on Saturday, the Liverpool manager was asked if he would be watching City on Sunday to see if they slipped up, to which he said he didn’t even know when the leaders play.
Klopp said: “No. It’s the truth, I wouldn’t even know when City is playing to be honest, we didn’t think about it for a second.
“We were completely here in preparation for this game [vs West Ham]. We have to win these days, especially this game we will see. If we do that and win football matches then we can put pressure on, without winning football games, no.”
However, England international Grealish doesn’t think that is the truth. During an interview with Sky Sports, he revealed: “People say they don’t watch but you obviously do.
“You keep track on other teams around you. It gives us an extra bit of motivation.”
These Grealish’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
