‘It’s going to happen!’, ‘He’s coming home’ – Man City fans react as club ‘optimistic’ with Erling Haaland signing

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have informed Erling Haaland they will better any offer made to him this summer as they aim to beat the competition to his signature.

The 21-year-old striker is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer due to a £62million release clause, and interest is high from big clubs across Europe.

Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.

The Premier League champions are set to go head-to-head with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the chase for Erling Haaland at the end of the season.

According to to Sport as relayed by Sport Witness, those in charge at the Etihad are working to ensure the striker, who they consider an ‘absolutely strategic signing’, does not ‘slip through their fingers’.

The report claims Man City have informed Erling Haaland that they will better any offer made to him this summer, and are ‘optimistic’ about their chances of signing him.

The Norwegian striker is undeniably elite, and he’s still just 21, which suggests that goals are almost guaranteed for the next decade and beyond for the club who manages to sign him.
