‘No way’, ‘not worth it’, ‘Rather just stick to false 9′ – Harry Kane claim has many Man City fans talking

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club will make a new attempt to sign Harry Kane this summer.

As we know, City did all they could to land the 28-year-old striker but Tottenham refused to negotiate, and Levy stood firm on his £150million valuation which was too much to ask of Pep Guardiola’s side who had spent £100million on Jack Grealish during that time.

Despite their efforts, Kane remained at Tottenham and now has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal, and will be 31 years of age when his contract is up.

After a difficult start to the Premier League season, Kane now has nine goals in his last 12 top-flight games.

The England captain scored twice in a 5-0 win over Everton on Monday night to take his tally to 176 Premier League goals and leapfrog Thierry Henry to become the league’s sixth all-time top scorer.

Kane has made clear his intentions to start winning trophies, something he has failed to do during his long stint with Tottenham. With the summer months nearing, there will be rumors and more discussions regarding the future of Tottenham Hotspur striker.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Marc Behrenbeck, Pep Guardiola’s side will make a new attempt to sign Harry Kane this summer as he will not be signing a new contract in north London.

“He is not renewing his contract and wants to try again in the summer to go to Manchester City,” Behrenbeck told Sky Germany’s Transfer Update show.

“He fits perfectly into the system. In addition, it would be almost the last chance for him because of his age.”

However, as per the report, Pep Guardiola, who is planning firmly to get a new attacker, also consider Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland as a top candidate.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

“Genuinely would be happy with either. Kane would absolutely cook in our team. Haaland would be a longer term option, but both great options if we can get one of them.”

“City fans saying “Only Haaland” like he’s 100% joining us. I’m sure we’re favorites to sign Haaland but we have to have a backup plan. Kane is a great option.”
