Some Man City Fans react as Sporting Lisbon closing in on Pedro Porro – €20m buy-back option being worked on

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have been negotiating the final details for the permanent transfer of Pedro Porro.

The 22-year-old – who is yet to make an appearance for the Citizens since arriving from Girona in 2019 – is currently enjoying the second part of his two-year loan spell with Sporting.

Porro joined City from Girona in 2019 and has yet to feature for the Sky Blues. The Spaniard was loaned out to Real Valladolid (August 2019 – July 2020) and Sporting (August 2020 – present) as he finds himself behind Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo in the pecking order, but this summer could see him moved on permanently.

Sporting have the option of signing Porro on a permanent deal this year, and the Portuguese giants are said to be determined to keep hold of the Spain international.

According to Newspaper Record as relayed by Sport Witness, Sporting are working to use their €8.5M buy option on Pedro Porro and are closing in on his signature, but the two clubs are negotiating a buyback fee.

The report states that Pep Guardiola’s side want the option to bring the Spanish international back to the Etihad Stadium for €20m (£16.8m) before green-lighting his transfer.
