Manchester City could reportedly attempt to pull off a shock swoop for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar this summer.
The 30-year-old has struggled to make his mark for the French giants during the 2021-22 campaign, contributing just four goals and five assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.
Neymar has managed 92 goals and 57 assists in 136 outings for PSG since his arrival from Barcelona, but he has struggled with a number of injury problems, and there have also been off-the-field issues.
The Brazil international only signed a new deal with the capital giants last May, with his current agreement at the club due to run until June 2025.
Journalist Romain Molina reported last week that PSG are unhappy with Neymar’s position at the club and will attempt to sell him during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola would like to bring the Brazil international to the Etihad.
The report adds that Barcelona and Newcastle United could rival the Premier League champions for Neymar’s signature, although he would have to take a significant hit on his wages to re-sign for La Blaugrana.
A move to Newcastle seems unlikely due to their league position, and Barcelona may not have the funds to complete the transfer. Manchester City, however, have the money to offer and the attraction of Champions League football.
Following report Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to sell the Brazilian during this summer’s transfer window, Some Man City fans are interested in the idea of the 30-year-old joining the club.
However, With Erling Haaland reportedly on his way to the Etihad, you’d expect a few departures if Pep Guardiola was to bring in the two stars.
