Manchester City are monitoring the development of AC Milan winger Rafael Leao with scouts watching him closely, a journalist has claimed.
It has been a great season for Leao so far, netting five times for the Rossoneri and making a big contribution to their attacking department.
Leao’s performances have not escaped the attention of the top European clubs, but there is no uncertainty on the horizon regarding his future.
Calciomercato last month reported that Pep Guardiola’s side were ‘in the lead’ for the striker, with the Italian side ready to ensure they can’t get him.
According to the latest from journalist Rudy Galetti, Manchester City have ‘put Leao in their crosshairs’ as the Premier League champions are ‘closely monitoring’ the growth of the winger, who recently became a Portugal international.
The Journalist adds that the City scouting area have been following the 23-year-old forward ‘for a long time’.
The premier champions failed to replace Sergio Aguero earlier this year, increasing the likelihood of a high-profile name arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2022.
The Cityzens have been recently linked with big money moves for Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, but a move for either player could trigger a world record fee, with City reportedly eyeing other options ahead of the 2022/23 season.
