Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Erik Ten Hag is on the shortlist to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
Few coaches in world football are in higher demand than Pep Guardiola, who has unveiled what he hopes to do after leaving the Premier League club.
After replacing Manuel Pellegrini at the helm, Guardiola has been pivotal to City’s success in recent seasons, with several players lauding the 50-year-old for his tactical acumen and knowledge of the game.
The Spaniard is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 and could extend that, but expects to work elsewhere at some point in the future. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Guardiola and City, having previously led Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
According to The Telegraph, the Dutchman is now said to be on the shortlist to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, should the City boss step down.
Ten Hag is viewed as one of the most progressive coaches in Europe after moulding a young Ajax side into Champions League competitors in 2019 and rebuilding the squad after his best players were snatched up by Europe’s elite.
Bayern Munich and Tottenham reportedly tried to court him, while Newcastle are said to have actively pursued him following the club’s mega-money takeover
Ten Hag has won 139 of his 188 games in charge of the Amsterdam giants, who sit one point clear of Feyenoord at the top of the Eredivisie table.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

If he doesn’t choose United next year then we should 100% get him in when Pep wants to leave
