Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers will resist interest from Manchester United as he is in the frame to replace Pep Guardiola at in 2023.
Rodgers had reportedly emerged as one of United’s primary target to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who oversaw his side suffer a resounding 5-0 defeat against bitter-rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
According to Caught Offside as relayed by City Xtra, Rodgers is ‘reluctant’ to enter negotiations with United, ‘preferring to succeed’ Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The report state that while Pep Guardiola is not expected to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the ongoing season, largely due to his existing deal, the former Barcelona boss will leave Manchester City in 18-months time.
Thus the reigning premier leaque champions will already be hunting down the perfect replacement for City’s most successful ever manager.
