On-loan Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis is currently enjoying a successful season with Southampton in the Championship. If Southampton achieves promotion, he will permanently move to St Mary’s due to a contractual agreement with Manchester City. The 22-year-old has had successful loan spells at various clubs and is now aiming for back-to-back promotion successes with Southampton.
Despite Southampton’s fight for promotion, there is interest from Ipswich in signing Harwood-Bellis if they achieve promotion to the Premier League. Ipswich are prepared to make a move for the defender if they secure promotion before Southampton, as a £15 million agreement is already in place with Manchester City. Should Southampton also achieve promotion, Ipswich will not be able to complete a deal for the Englishman.
Harwood-Bellis, a product of the City Football Academy, has made a significant impact at Southampton with 35 appearances and direct involvement in five goals this season. Ipswich is keen to secure his signature should they reach the Premier League, but his future remains dependent on both Southampton’s promotion bid and the existing agreement with Manchester City.
