Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims ‘Everything’ is being done to avoid a new injury for Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the Norwich, Arsenal and Leicester City fixtures, and while there were some who might be worried about the playmaker due to his initial absence against Southampton.
The Premier League champions laboured to a 0-0 draw on Saturday where they looked bereft of a player able to force open Southampton’s well-organised defence.
Despite the best efforts of Jack Grealish, City lacked the cutting edge in the final third that fans at the Etihad have become accustomed to seeing under Pep Guardiola.
They missed the Belgian’s creativity when they needed it most. However, Coming on for the final 25 minutes against Southampton, he wasn’t able to find a winning goal.
According to Voetbal24 as relayed by Sport witnesses, Man City medical staff don’t want to ‘overload’ Kevin de Bruyne’s ankle, and are being extra cautious to avoid another ligament injury/possible ankle surgery’.
The report claims De Bruyne is ‘being prepared for more important matches’, such as vs Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Well it isn’t, it was said at the start of the season that if he was to reinjure his ankle he would be forced into having surgery which of course he and the medical staff don’t want👍 if they’re cautious for a few weeks or so he should be good to go
