‘Would be such a massive downgrade’, ‘He’s better here’ – Fans reacts as Arsenal ‘Open Talks’ With Man City Over Star Midfielder

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal have opened talks to sign Bernardo Silva.

Silva has been a superb player for City, helping the club win three Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup since joining from Monaco in 2017.

But his future is in doubt now after City signed Jack Grealish for £100million. They are now stacked with attacking options and Bernardo’s game time is expected to be limited next season if he stays at the club.

The former Monaco man emerged as one of the players who could be on his way out of the Etihad at the beginning of this summer as Man City look to freshen up their squad.

And Pep Guardiola has even admitted that the Portuguese is hoping to leave the Premier League champions in the near future.

The Mirror reported last week that Arsenal have now started to explore the possibility of signing Bernardo, as they continue the search for a new attacking midfielder.

According to Portuguese reporter Pedro Almeida, the Gunners have opened talks with Manchester City to discuss an audacious move to sign Bernardo Silva this summer.

Almeida further notes that while Manchester City have had preliminary talks with Arsenal over a Bernardo Silva transfer, the midfielder is not open to signing with the London-based side.

While Bernardo Silva desires a move away from Manchester City in the coming weeks, he still wants to compete in Europe’s biggest club competition – the UEFA Champions League – and thus prefers not to join an Arsenal side that will not play European football this season.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
