Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is unlikely to the Etihad if Pep Guardiola’s side bring Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
City boss Pep Guardiola has made Grealish and Kane his top targets in this window, and could soon have one of them at the Etihad Stadium.
The Premier League champions have offered £100 million to Villa for the England international attacking midfielder as they look to wrap up their first major signing of the summer.
The Sun reported yesterday that City will follow Grealish’s capture by launching a big-money move for the striker, who has informed Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to leave during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Manchester Evening News (MEN) today, Manchester City’s hopes of signing Harry Kane this summer will end with the arrival of Grealish, should the Blues pull off a move for the Aston Villa captain.
The report claims a move for Harry Kane will not be financially viable if Jack Grealish joins Man City – unless significant player sales are countenanced. This has been the situation ever since the summer transfer window began.
This is a very unexpected twist as City are keen on signing Grealish and Kane but now, it seems that they will have to forgo their interest in the Spurs striker if they sign Grealish.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

Don’t believe this

We aren’t going to sign a creative midfielder instead of a striker. Striker is the number one priority. City wouldn’t buy Grealish if they can’t get a striker

If that’s the case it makes no sense. We can’t continue the whole season with a false 9 teams will figure it out. We need a striker more than we need another creative midfielder

In Txiki we trust

We wouldn’t spend £100M on a creative player AND put Delap on loan if we weren’t at least going to try and sign Kane
— vm (@mcfcvm) August 1, 2021
I'd rather we sign Kane than Grealish. WE NEED A STRIKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will still be able to buy Lewandowski for around €70m. There are many options upfront to go in for apart from Kane. Nunez Darwin and Patrick Schick are also there. We have no worries. The Sky is Blue💙🙌

idk about anyone else but i’ll choose to stick with what our more reliable source said

Sounds to me like City are trying to drive the price down after Kane has already made it clear he wants to leave.
