A lot of Manchester City fans were impressed with Cole Palmer’s performance during last night pre-season friendly victory against Preston North End.
Pep Guardiola’s side got their pre-season preparations off to a winning start on Tuesday evening with a comfortable 2-0 win over Preston North End, thanks to goals on either side of half time from Riyad Mahrez and Samuel Edozie.
The young Manchester City midfielder started the contest and was replaced by Patrick Roberts at half time, as Guardiola opted to rotate his pack at the interval.
Despite only storing 45 minutes under his belt, Palmer was pleased to have got back into the thick of the action again and is now looking to cement himself within the club’s first-team plans.
The 19-years-old did superbly to win the free kick for Mahrez to break the deadlock, carried the ball well throughout his time on the pitch and showed great technique from the off.
Palmer’s performance caught the eye of some Man City fans on social media. Here’s what some of them had to say on Twitter…
