‘Atleast now Man City is talking’, ‘Barca fans in the mud’ – Fans reacts to the club’s stance on Barcelona transfer swap for Cancelo and Silva

Manchester City sources have responded pretty strongly to recent suggestions of swap deals between Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo and Barcelona stars this summer.

The two Portugal internationals have been linked with a move to the Nou Camp this summer, with full-back Sergi Roberto and striker Ousmane Dembele being touted for a move to the Etihad Stadium in exchange.

But Blues sources have moved to quash any such deals, rumours that have come in the wake of Barca picking up out-of-contract City stars Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia on free transfers.

According to Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City have ignored the more ‘outrageous’ claims, and dismissed more damaging ones like a potential swap involving the above two.

Brennan adds that Cancelo has shown no signs of being unhappy at the club and is not expected to be sold or moved on during the summer transfer window.

As for Bernardo Silva, his future will be sorted after the ongoing European Championships, with the player’s full focus on helping Portugal secure consecutive Euro titles.

Manchester City insider Lu Martin as relayed by City Xtra, also provided the views from the club while speaking to Què T’hi Jugues on Tuesday.

“I asked in Manchester, and they answered: ‘Are you crazy, what’s wrong with you?’ It’s been talked about, especially through [Jorge] Mendes. But talking to Manchester City has shown that exchanging players is unfeasible…” Martin stated.
