Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola has urged the club to touch base with Sporting Lisbon over a proposed deal interest left-back target Nuno Mendes.
The 18-year-old is enjoying an excellent season with the Portuguese giants, who are currently nine points clear at the top of the Primeira Liga.
Nuno Mendes, who has been with Sporting from the age of 10, only made his senior first-team debut under a year ago and has already attracted scouts from elite clubs across the continent.
Portuguese newspaper Record on Friday reported that City have ‘initiated exploratory contacts’ with Sporting Lisbon over the possible signing of the left-back.
According to latest report from Spanish Newspaper AS, Pep Guardiola has ‘given the go-ahead’ for the Manchester City management to try and sign the promising left-back, and are considering a long-term contract with the 18 year-old spending next season back on-loan at Sporting.
The Cityzens are reportedly in ‘pole position’ for the defender despite interest from Juventus, Milan and Napoli, thanks to an extra factor, which is Pedro Porro.
The Portugal Under 21 wonderkid, describe by a City fan as ‘the new Alphonso Davies’ has a buy-out clause from €45 million to a staggering €70 million.
