Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club could use the buy-back clause in former player Douglas Luiz’s contract to their advantage in the pursuit of Aston Villa midfield star Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window.

The England international who is having a superb campaign this season featured on City’s list of potential recruits during the last transfer window and he was admired at Etihad.

Daily Mail on thursday reported that Cityzens are emerging as the favourites to sign the Aston Villa midfielder – who could attract a transfer fee upwards of £100 million in the upcoming summer market.

According to information from Martin Blackburn of the Sun, City could re-sign Douglas Luiz, who moved away from the Etihad Stadium in 2019 for around £25m up until the start of June to gain leverage to sign Jack Grealish. Man City’s buy-back option allows him to be brought back for a minimal fee.

The reports however add that Pep Guardiola’s priority is likely to be a new striker and possibly a specialist left-back, but is keeping an open mind on Grealish, as he knows some of his current players could fancy a move and good offers may come in.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
