Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The Premier League leaders are reportedly monitoring the Swiss international to replace Fernandinho this summer.

The 24-year-old has impressed in his three seasons in the Bundesliga with Gladbach which have caught the eye of several European clubs and is also a regular for the Switzerland national side.

Sky Sports reported on monday that Man City enquired about the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder last summer and are weighing up a formal offer when the transfer window reopens.

According to BILD Sport via Sport_Witness, the best Gladbach can hope to get for Denis Zakaria is probably ‘a maximum of around €20M’ – ‘half less than what was hoped’.

The report claims, his contract which expire in 2022, injuries affecting the player, and Covid-19 affecting the market are the reasons for the fall in the value of the £40million-rated midfielder.

The midfielder missed the start of the current season with a knee injury, but has recovered to make 17 appearances in the Bundesliga, though has yet to recapture his old form.

He played the full 90 minutes of both legs of Gladbach’s Champions League round of 16 tie against the Cityzens, which ended in a 4-0 defeat on aggregate.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
