Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports to yet another update on Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian striker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Etihad, is one of Europe’s hottest properties and his performance in its biggest competition this year could influence his next step.
Despite moving to Borussia Dortmund just twelve months ago, every major European club has him on their radar and will try to win the race for his signature as soon as possible.
Haaland has a release clause of €75m in his contract with Dortmund, but that only comes into play in the summer of 2022, when the Norwegian will have developed further and there’s more rivals for the deal.
According to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano via CBS Sports, Whichever club chooses to make a bid for Haaland this summer will have to open negotiations with Dortmund as well as with the striker and his agent Mino Raiola.
Romano claims that no decision has yet been made on whether Borussia Dortmund will accept any bids this summer or wait until the summer of 2022 – much will depend on whether the club can qualify for the Champions league next season, along with the price tag.
It’s clear that Haaland is already one of the best strikers in the world, Manchester City may be wise to make a big-money move for the star this summer, flexing their safe financial position over rivals that are still being crippled by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

We MUST pay out in the summer no waiting for 2022 put 150m on the table if you have to imo

When u have Raiola that's not a good idea. Someone else offers a little more money and he will just change his mind

Be difficult to sign him but there is a chance, just hope

I usually think getting in bidding wars isn’t the wisest idea and you’re often better off scouting players who might be under the radar. Dias over Maguire for example. But this is a case where City really need to just put ~120m on the table, don’t muck about and make it happen.

I don't think we will sign him neither Pep wants him.

It may end up we sign someone else we don't know yet, but Pep will eventually make him world class, or Liam Delap?
