Manchester City, the Premier League champions, are reportedly in talks to sign a left-back during the upcoming summer transfer window. Despite not having a recognized left-back currently, Pep Guardiola has been able to use existing defensive options effectively in that position throughout the season.
The signing of Josko Gvardiol in the last summer transfer window was seen as a replacement for Aymeric Laporte, but the Croatian international has been mainly used as a left-back under Guardiola. Manchester City are now exploring options within the Premier League, with reports suggesting they have held talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Apart from looking to strengthen the left-back position, Manchester City is also considering midfield reinforcements in the summer transfer window. Uncertainty surrounding the futures of Bernardo Silva and Kalvin Phillips, as well as long-term plans for aging players like Kevin De Bruyne, are factors that could lead to new arrivals in midfield for the club. City has been linked with Bundesliga talents like Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala, but they are expected to stay at their respective clubs.
