Fernandinho is set to leave Manchester City when his contract expires this summer and a return to Brazil may emerge.
The midfielder has less than six months left on his contract, and in the summer he can leave the Etihad as a free agent if he decides against signing a new deal with the Citizens.
According to Mundo deportivo via Sport_Witness, It is ‘not known’ whether or not Fernandinho will renew his contract with Manchester City. The ‘question’ about his future beyond this season is ‘beginning to disturb’ the club.
Giovanni Branchini, who represents the versatile Brazilian, has talked up the prospect of a return to Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense when his contract at the Etihad expires this summer.
“We’ve received several proposals, good projects from Brazilian and European clubs for Fernandinho. He’s a phenomenal player and person,” He has told GloboEsporte.
“I believe it won’t be long before he knows what decision he’ll make. Everyone knows that Fernandinho has a great affection for Athletico and the board. I, too, have an excellent relationship with President Mario Celso Petraglia.
“Conversations have always happened, but I can’t go ahead and say that we talk about values, for example. It hasn’t happened yet.
“I confess that it’s difficult to think of Fernandinho returning to Brazil and not playing for Athletico. But we have to wait, it’s a difficult decision, which he has to make with his family.”
In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Fernandinho joined us when he was 28. So much more experience than Rodri has.
With time Rodri could even surpass him but for now Fernandinho still bosses it every game.
Extension would be great for both parties.
